Spring Festival VOL.1
Published:Tuesday,December 30th ,2008
The Spring Festival is probably the most grand and interesting in all Chinese traditional festivals. It means the same for Chinese as Christmas for westerners. During the Spring Festival, large or small Chinese characters “Fu” will be pasted on doors, walls and doorposts in every household. Nowadays, "fu," literally means happiness. Yet, in the past, the character mainly meant luck and fortune. The common expressions “Guo Nian” means farewell to the past year, and “Bai Nian” means “happy new year”.
